Celebrity Chef Praises Local ProducersLast night Celebrity Chef Jean Christophe Novelli praised the regions producers, and thanked them for his generous gift presented to him by fellow foodie James Day of Midlands Dining Club Gourmet Life, and producer Louis Barnett of Chokolit. “What a delightful gift – I really enjoyed visiting Shropshire earlier this year, and meeting the passionate producers of Shropshire, and sampling their produce. I am a great believer in sourcing the best from the regions, and here at our Novelli Academy we like to present the best to our customers for them to cook with – we will certainly be trying these generous gifts, with and may even be incorporating some of them into our courses.”

James Day and Louis Barnett were visiting Jean at his home and academy in Hertfordshire yesterday, as part of Louis campaign to raise money for Save the Children Fund at next weeks’ ‘Festival of Trees’  event at the Natural History Museum – Louis has made a 3 foot solid Chokolit tree, and was with Jean to receive his kind gift of an experience for up to ten lucky bidders at his Academy, for the prize worth almost £10,000. Louis commented “It has been an ambition of mine to meet Jean ever since I saw him on telly at the age of 12, demonstrating his ‘Novelli twist’ technique with melted sugar – sadly at the time I did it wrong and burnt my mum’s pan, but Jean yesterday gave me some tips on how to do it, which I will be attempting for my tree next week. I would like to thank James of Gourmet Life for making it possible to meet him”

Members of Gourmet Life can receive 20% off at Jean’s Academy experiences by joining on their website, plus save 20% off dining all year at the regions top dining venues which MUST source at least 20% of their menu from the region…
