Chi Bar and Grill invests £70,000 in refurbishment and opening of Chi Grill

Chi Grill Interior

One of the key entertainment directors in the Colmore Business District, Jagtar Dhaliwal, has recently invested £70,000 in the refurbishment and opening of Chi Grill which will be part of Chi Bar and Grill, based on Newhall Street.

The opening has created a positive seven new jobs in an otherwise unpromising financial climate, and will possibly create more with future plans of further investment.

Director Jag was, ironically, the lucky thirteenth and only buyer of the property to achieve success in restoring the original derelict building, worth £1.4 million in 2001, with all other buyers abandoning restoration plans. Originally launched as Chi Bar and Grill in November 2003 and in business for nine successful years, company director, Jag, has decided to refurbish and re-launch the new Chi Grill in a quest to fill a gap in the market in the Colmore Business District area for tasty, diverse and affordable lunches with colleagues. Introducing an exciting new Indian tapas style menu, Chi Grill presents a change from the usual, mundane sandwich based lunches on offer in the area, as well as relaxed evening dining with friends.

Reflecting Jag’s Indian heritage, Chi Grill’s décor displays subtle eastern touches with one wall featuring a 100 year old authentic hand stitched tapestry handed down to him through his wife’s maternal lineage.
Chi Bar and Grill’s Director, Jagtar Dhaliwal comments:

“This is an exciting new venture for Chi Bar and Grill which we believe the Colmore area has been crying out for. We came up with a unique menu which provides people with a diverse choice and a tasty lunch all for under a fiver.”
