Four Seasons restaurant wins fine dining award

Swinfen Hall Hotel’s Four Seasons Restaurant has been named ‘Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year’ in the 2012 Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards. Restaurant Manager, Lester Birchall-Wright and Bars Manager, Pete Haw attended the glamorous awards dinner that took place on Monday 1st October at the Best Western Stoke-on-Trent Moathouse.

The Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards is an annual event, held to celebrate quality and distinctiveness in Staffordshire’s food and drink. The 2012 accolade is the third Taste of Staffordshire award won by the Four Seasons Restaurant, having twice been named ‘Restaurant of the Year’.

The judges’ comments after assessing the Four Seasons restaurant stated: “Service was as professional and competent as expected and everything was carried out in a calm and discreet manner. Desserts were a highlight of the evening and were made with first class ingredients, full of beautifully delicate flavours, with a wonderfully refreshing feel that made for a memorable end to the meal. Their philosophy regarding local produce was set out well and the ethos had been well embraced. Without any doubt, they did Staffordshire proud.”

Hotel owner and manager, Helen Wiser commented, “I am very proud of Head Chef Adam Thomson and the whole restaurant team for winning a third Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Award, they truly deserve the recognition. We have also retained the restaurant’s 2 AA rosettes for the 10th year running and we have recently been awarded our 5th year of 4 red AA stars so we are absolutely delighted”.

All of the businesses entering the Good Food Awards competition have been accredited by Taste of Staffordshire and visited by professionally qualified restaurant inspectors who judge all aspects of their visit including quality of food and drink, service, presentation and use of local produce.
