Too many chefs? not when you’re cooking with tv’s Lorraine Pascale!

TV cook and former model Lorraine Pascale got stuck in for a recipe demonstration at Birmingham’s Aalto Restaurant.
Lorraine was showcasing recipes from her new book Fast, Fresh and Easy Food and presented an exclusive dinner party alongside Lead Chef Dan Pearce at the brasserie at Hotel La Tour in Albert Street.

Ten lucky winners of a Heart FM competition who attended the event along with a guest of their choice, got to chat with Lorraine and see her cook at the Chef’s Table at Aalto before sitting down to a sumptuous three course meal with matching wines.

Chef Dan said: “It’s always a pleasure to be able to showcase our restaurant and kitchen. It was great to meet Lorraine and talk to her about her style of cooking. She prepared the starter and chatted to the guests, talking about her love of food. The main course and dessert were chosen in conjunction with Lorraine and are from the a la carte menu at Aalto.”

Lorraine revealed she was inspired to cook by her father and that her top tip for Christmas dinner is: “Get someone else to make it!”

She attended the event on Sunday night after a busy day at the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC, relaxing in one of the hotel’s suites before meeting the winners.

The menu for the event was:
Crunchy black pepper halloumi dip sticks with a spicy harissa hummus, served with Saint Cosme Cotes-du-Rhone
Slow-braised pork cheeks, lentils and sage, mash and red cabbage, served with Altas du Ruesca, Garnacha, Spain
Pear and almond tart with clotted cream, served with sparkling Rosa Regale from Tuscan vineyard Banfi.
